Damn, that is clean! I could totally talk the wife into that one.
Not sure an 8 hr drive is in order though.
Side note: I’m willing to bet the oil usage is a bad HG, given he said it doesn’t smoke. Bad rings like he’s thinking would cause smoke, bad HG it’s likely running down the block and he has no idea.

I assumed it just wasn't bad enough to be visible, but you could be right though. My old Saturn burned a decent amount but I almost never saw it until I overfilled it one day and fried the rings. Even if it is head gasket you got this :)

These things are notorious for eating HGs and I’ve never heard of one having ring issues ( unless pushing crazy boost ), so I would be very surprised if it was actually ring issues.
If it is ring issues at that mileage, I would walk away from the whole car as it would give me warning as to how it was taken care of.
